Is it possible for 2 people or more in completely different locations (both connected to internet) to play a game together. If so, how? Thanks in advance.

Tick Server under preferences...

Then the other person joins the game using your IP address.

Most routers will require port forwarding for this to work.

I'm not sure on the port numbers required to forward though.
