I like many others stopped playiny FM2008 and went back to FM2007 because whatever I tried I got fed up of losing to inferior opposition all the time. After a while though I got bored with the 2007 game. Why? because FM2008 is a much better game but for one thing.... the match engine. So here's a suggestion, why don't you put the FM2008 game with the FM2007 match engine? What do you think?

New match engine is better, since the patch. But stopped playing as well because of positions problem

Potentially, although the match engine with the new patch is better, except for the 1 on 1's which are rediculous even now. Hope that will be improved in the newest patch, and fully by next year.

I though that the final patch of 2007 was the best match engine so far though, so yes i agree.(after beating around the bush )

For me, the single most frustrating thing about Football Manager 2008 is the fact that it was merely a flawed match engine away from being the greatest FM ever.

Who knows, after the next patch it may well be. But even then, attention will be turning toward FM 2009 and it all begins again

Im really beginning to enjoy this game, just wish there was a bit more variety in the types of chances that are created.

There's more problems than just the match engine with FM08. Imo, the FM07 match engine is better, but as a whole, I still prefer 07 to 08, and changing the match engine to the last game's version wouldn't change that.
