clearly i can't put him on the wages he's actually going to make, but will he stay at LA if he doesn't get a huge wake deal? How much could LA even afford, maybe 10k/week?
The massive figures being mentioned in the media includes all media rights and sonsorship deals. His actual salary is estimated on the BBC website (pretty reliable) as $10M a year. The MLS salary cap is being increased next year.
I had a look at trying to increase the wage cap which is 19k per week. however, ive not found a way to increase the wages let alone add the Beckham rule (as is the official rule for a star player is known). The only suggestions i would make to keeping him is to make LA Galaxy his favourite club with a high loyalty rating... might help.
Actually WhiteFlag his salary which DOES NOT include win bonuses or goal bonuses etc, is £128 Million Pounds which works out at £500.000per week. his earning is dollars is $250Million, anything to do with his performance on and off the pitch is EXTRA!!!!
Screw Beckham. He obviously let his wife choose for him, she just wanted to live in Hollywood. I am encouraged by the fact that Americans are starting to take the game seriously though.
I agree I remember watching the world cup at work and thought that the USA team were playing good fast paced attacking football. almost got further than they did too, I liked Ghana too they were good aswell.
Err, I never said anything about win bonuses or goal bonuses. Did you read my post ? I repeat, his basic salary is c. $10M a year, not £128M. The extra is for media rights, advertising, endorsements, a share of LA Galaxys profit etc.

Your incorrect. The US Media has already reported on this. The deal is worth $250 Mil US, and includes sponserships and endorsments. It is rumored the biggest of these will be Adidas becoming the official jersey sponsor of the Galaxy. Basically, anything the Gals make money off of that involves him, Becks gets a cut of. The playing deal, I read was much smaller...more likely between 9-10 mil annually. The rest will come from ENDORSEMENTS(note: there is no mention of on-field based incentives, or for that matter that the 10 mil or whatever a year is guranteed) Here's an espn article on the contract...
