Providing he does exactly what the AI would do, you can't say the AI has an unfair advantage, can you? Well, I bet you will, but the excuse won't wash.
First and foremost, SI need to better explain what approach we should take to tactical building, and crucially explain and better document what each slider does and how it should be used. Once we know that, the problems will lie in the user's inability to read a game and adapt. Personally, I think that's the situation we have now, but then people will have fewer excuses. Except one: laziness.

Agree wholeheartidly with this topic, doubt it will matter because SI wont change anything however many people 'moan'.
SI tried to make the game too realistic when it is just that, a game and it ended up being unrealistic.
Some of us have lifes and families and dont have the time to look at minute details on every replay of every match or look at match reports or spend hours just getting through 3 games because the tactics need so much detail.
I dont expect the game to be easy or to win the title with Portsmouth etc, but it seems whatever I do, whatever I try nothing really works unles I am one of the 'big' teams.
What annoys me tho is this 'recalculating' thing the al does around Xmas time, I have read people denying this happens but it clearly does, one time I had a decent tactic and run going with Boro, nothing majoy, I was 8th at xmas, then after Xmas is stopped working and I ended up finishing 16th, seems the game has this 'When you have playe dteams once they completely work you out' thing to it, its ridiculous.
The game is just infuriating.

Oh and I wish people would stop having a go at people for 'moaning', we have as much right to vent our feelings as people do who praise the game.

It's just a terrible, terrible mathematical headache of a game. How can you possibly play this as a football fan and derive any enjoyment from it? I will not pay £30 again to engage in a psychological game of chess with the programmers.
Horseman_Plague made a great point earlier when he said that BIG changes should affect the outcome of a game, and not 1/20th of a slider as currently happens. He is absolutely spot on. Any football management game in which you can make such a tiny change to each player and experience a dramatic shift in performance is FLAWED and ILLOGICAL - that's the bottom line. | Fully agree with this, the game has ended up like some spreadhseet game, the infuriating nature of everything outweighs what enjoyment you get.
Also, what about people who dont have internet access? They cant look at these topics in this forum (And even I have internet access dont have enough time too, really).

CM4 was not only by far the worst in the series, it was also an abysmal game in its own right. It lasted one week on my PC, and I was really trying to give it a chance.
There are few games that have been released with such shockingly poor quality IMO. Just play a match on full highlights in a gale, and wait for a throw in. Then guffaw as 20 minutes of throw ins pass you by, not one of which ever actually hits the pitch. I mean, if you thought your strikers in FM2007 couldn't hit a white whale on a black background, just picture 22 players who can't hit an entire football pitch from 20 cm. It's laughable.
And of course, after about 10 minutes (of real time), the novelty wore off, leaving you thinking, "I paid money for this drivel? Did no one ever play test it???".
You really have to play it to believe how bad it was.

| I think you're being very generous to an evolutionary embarresment in football management games

The game is good, but when you play a team, have over 10-15 shots on target with top strikers and have the keeper save everything, only to then have your opponent have one or two shots and instantly score from them, then that is when you know the game is becoming a joke. Unrealistic as hell. No way you'll see a team like Chelsea have 10 shots on target and not score from them. Hell no goal keeper in this planet, not Cech, not Buffon, no one, can play against quality strikers and repeatedly save 10 to 15 shots in a match, its just not realistic, too bad SI couldn't see that.
