Cheltenham had 4 before the break (3 before I had switched to another tactic), and another before half-time. Their strikers hit target after target.

Defeat Huddersfield 3-0, despite having half as many shots both in total and on target.

You know, this may just be incidental, but I seem to think that my goalkeeper plays alot better more often with the 4-2-4 active..

Well after 13 games using 4-2-4 we have had in League 1 games..

13 Games
8 Wins
3 Losses

The rest of the season:
24 Games
10 Wins
7 Draws
7 Losses.

So in half as many matches, we have had nearly twice as many wins, no draws and just under half the amount of losses.

Not counting chickens of course, but we have gone from 6th to 2nd.

Countering the AI 442 is pretty easy.

There is a thread called 'Unbeaten combination off wwfan and cleon" or whatever. If you follow the instructions in there but only do the most attacking formation then put barrows on the full backs I have never been caught out using this. It usually ends up with the AI having a couple of stupid long range efforts, then my side scoring and them changing back to their original tactics.

lost 1-2 away at hull, multiple "AI screws you over" happened.. they had a guy sent off (they never fail to fire up after that), then the "instant hitback" after I scored my goal for 1-1, plus their "super keeper" won MoTm.

bah. gone on a horrible slump, adding 3 more losses and 3 draws from the last 4 games (41, 5 left). Dropped from 2nd to 10th.. ffs.

I dont even change my tactic to counter this.


First of all you REALLY need to have press on the enemys Fullbacks. If you dont know how to do that... well, dont moan... (psst, use Farrwows on your Wingers). Second, have your own Fullbacks on Mixed FWR... Simple & easy!

Basicly what I try when AI changes to 4-2-4 is to just set Counterattack ON and Passing Direct (or even long).

That *should* give some decent counterattacks.
