I'm playing deep defensive line (the first notch of Deep) because my team is very vulnerable to counter-attacks. I use tight man marking because I have skilled but slow defenders so I want them to stop the opposing attackers as soon as they get the ball (or even before). However, I noticed that my defensive line always pulls close to the opposing attackers, probably because of my Tight Marking setting, so they sometimes leave a lot of space between their line and the goal for the ball to be played into. Does my Tight Marking setting make my Deep Defensive Line setting irrelevant?
