I have just brought FM08 and started a game with Man Utd, and wanted to know if anyone could give me any tips on good players to buy and tactics etc...

UTD have a pretty good squad already imo.
Get a good gk since van der saar is old and maybe another striker if u plan on using Tevez as AMC. A target man would be nice.

Buy a new RB like Richards or Alves. Their expensive but tbh United don't need many improvements in the first season so splash out on one of them.

I'd play United like this:

-------------- Van Der Sar -----------

New RB ----- Vidic ----- Rio ----- Evra

Ronaldo - Carrick - Hargreaves - Giggs

---------- Scholes - Rooney ---------

--------------- Tevez ---------------

Give Ronaldo and Giggs forward runs. Hope it helps :thup:
