Had he been in a club he'd been sacked. I'll grant you that.
But the Spanish FA is even more chaotic than a Monty Python sketch, thus why he stayed there.
On the other hand, we don't pay that much attention here to what a manager says during training. He was trying to motivate a player whose morale was far lower than ground level and felt no desire to keep playing at his level.
Unlucky for him that the English were recording the training session and even worst media management on the fact that he didn't back up on the shi tty part of his statement.

Don't get me wrong Jordi, I don't think he should have been sacked. The hypocrisy is that he could have used almost any other prefix to the word b@st@rd, and no-one would have cared; "French", "Pacey", "Lanky", "Goofy", "Jug-eared" (had he been jug-eared) would all be fine. But not "black" apparently.

Well, he frequently skins defenders.

What Ian said.
Moving swiftly along, I'm a softly, softly sort of manager. I never criticise publicly, expect discipline from the players, and would rather encourage them than give them the hairdryer (althought they've got a few of those when they've been abject).
I think my management style is summed up by one of my biggest wishes interaction-wise - we need a "have a quiet word" option instead of having to formally warn a player for minor infractions. I'm not sure why my wish to politely tell a player to be careful about his yellow card count needs a formal warning, tbh.

I enjoy shouting at the players at every opportunity. I don't often fine them unless they've been sent off, but there's usually a few embarrassments (sp) in the squad after the match

I tend to be a bit of a softie, that is, I encourage more than I criticise. I only really get angry at my team if I feel they lost a game to an inferior opponent that they should have defeated.
That being said, I also don't hesitate to dish out formal warnings and fines for yellow and red cards. Sometimes I still get the "Player X feels your warning for dismissal was unfair" when the guy gets a straight red for kicking an opposing player. That's when I usually fine them for "unprofessional behavior".

I tend to be the nice guy. Loose my temper now and then though. When it comes to comment on other managers, I always talk trash. Lost the last 7 games you say? Confidence is still high, nonetheless. I'm really picky on form though. If a player has a few bad matches, he better be prepared for an extensive run in the reserves.
Second jcb about the "quiet word" or private conversation option. Would be nice for those little sissies that fear the public pressure.

First season I got angry quite a bit. Second season I mellowed, but we were doing well, third season I've been a mix. Not afraid to use the angry button if need but mostly encouraging. Will sometimes single players out, though never to the media, unless it is praise. I'll criticize them but not publicly. I'm not sure I've ever used the fine button. Unless it would be skipping training or something, but even then only after a warning or two.
