Yeah I the thought of wrinkly hands over my injured hamstring would make me think twice about getting injured again. I can just imagine the shocked expressions on the players faces as they leave the treatment room! KUTGW!

I bet Old Trafford Glazerbucks teenage forward "Shrek" would have a lot of groin strains though

Yeah his agent has been on the phone non-stop, he says he's always been an Accrington fan!

He was gonna sign but he wants to wait a few year til the physio is in her 70's!

Season 2008/09

Pre-season went well as my scouts found a much better standard of players. Despite a budget of only £350k, I broke the club’s transfer record buying a striker for £200k. I also picked up 3 centre backs and 1 central midfielder. Even though I lost my star winger for 8 months with injury, for the first time ever going into a season I was confident that I had a strong squad and would do well.

Started the season off brilliantly, winning matches against all the top teams, my strikers firing on all cylinders and my defence looking water tight for once. Already out of the League Cup (1st rnd) and LDV Vans (2nd rnd) come January I was 3rd in the table. Then everything started to go wrong, the wheels began to come off my very young squad and I found wins hard to come by. The only promisising sign was that my strikers were still banging the goals in.

A major suspension and injury crisis (I knew I shouldn’t have got my physio botox for Christmas) didn’t help matters, and at 1 point I was struggling to field a team. Knocked out of the FA Cup 4th round by Charlton and beginning dropped down to 6th in the table.

When eventually I did get all my players back we looked a good team again, but losing the last few games of the season meant we finished 7th, just outside the Play-Offs. Pretty happy all in all, and I have a very good young squad which can only get better next season. The clubs financial situation is starting to look rosy aswell, so hopefully a stadium extension could be in the pipeline.

Season 2009/10

Well, still only given a budget of £250k, my scouts didnt do much over the summer and I brought 2 defenders and a winger. Spent most of the transfer window rejecting Premiership bids for my striker, but was forced to sell my star midfielder for £2.8mil

Despite his loss, I still had a strong team and won the opening 10 games of the season. My good form continued for most of the season, although sometimes i suffered due to a lack of depth in the squad.

Comfortably finished 3rd in League One, went out in the FA Cup 3rd round and league cup 1st rnd. Faced Bournemouth in the play-off semis, losing the 1st leg 3-1 but bounced back to take the second 4-0. This earned us a final against Wolves, which ended 0-0, and we won on penalties.

So next season sees Accrington step up to the Championship, however i feel i may lose my striker over the summer due to his £3mil release clause...

Season 2010/11

A big step up for Accrington, moving into the lofty heights of the Championship. This year I had a budget of £2.5m, and managed to hang on to all of my best players over the summer and got my best player to sign a new contract which doesn’t include a min fee release clause. Signed some good young players, and a couple of ex-England internationals who even at 30, were well past their best.

Won the opening game 5-2 at Millwall, however it took me 6 games to find my next win against Reading. My season was patchy and inconsistent throughout. We did play some good football but weren’t good enough defensively, although once again my strikers performed magnificently. Sat comfortably mid table all season, never in any danger of being dragged into a relegation dogfight, but also never in contention for the play-offs.

Finished a respectful 15th, despite losing my England Under 21 goalkeeper with a broken ankle. Reached the League Cup Qtr Final but knocked out of the FA Cup in the 3rd Round. Season highlights included a League Cup scalp of Middlesbrough, and doing the double in the league over the scum that is Sunderland

I seriously doubt I will ever take Accrington beyond the Championship, and so I may jump ship soon, as I feel I have taken the club as far as possible. The board have promised they will improve training facilities, and the club looks in good shape financially....

Im gonna stick out a few more years, i've had my training facilities upgraded which has made me want to stay, i wont leave until they have top training facilities and a youth academy!

I just meant that we are the same kind of club as Crewe. An unfashionable club that performs ok and brings through some top youngsters but loses them to bigger clubs. But you just can't ever see them in the Premiership (No disrespect to Crewe fans)
