Ok, i'll space my updates out a little so they don't read like 1 continuous boring story...
Season 2005/06
Took over at Accrington with £22k to spend and a less than talented squad. My one scout found me a few not bad players, and a lot of terrible players. I signed 4 players for a total of £6k and got 1 on loan from a Premiership team.
Started the season fairly well, scoring goals by the bagful but conceding plenty aswell. Over Christmas my form dropped and I found myself sitting in 9th come the end of January. However over the spring months my form picked up, mainly thanks to my young striker signed for £2k and I lead my team to 2nd. Got offered the Wycombe job but turned it down. Lost the last few games of the season though and ended up 4th. Lost in the play-off semis to Morecambe.
Reached the FA Trophy final only to be unluckily beaten by Hereford. Went out LDV Vans trophy in 1st round, and FA Cup in 2nd round.
All in all I exceeded all expectations and signed a new 3 year deal, which the fans were chuffed about. Looking forward to a summer clear out and hopefully trying to keep hold of my young striker, as Kilmarnock have been sniffing round him all season.

Season 2006/07
After watching England win the World Cup I began my big summer clear out and got rid of a lot of my squad, including my best player who I could not keep hold of once Plymouth came in with a £400k bid, especially considering I only paid £2k for him. I employed 2 new scouts and got to work on rebuilding a team fit for promotion. I picked up some good midfielders and a striker, but started the season with no centre halfs.
After signing some centre-halfs, including 1 very good one, I began to win most of my matches and appeared to have a very strong team. I exited the FA Trophy and FA Cup in the 1st rounds, but went on a very good LDV Vans run beating many league teams in the process. I ended up beating Colchester in the final for my 1st piece of LLM silverwear. Well I say silverwear, I would imagine the trophy would be at best silver plated, maybe even just silver paint.
The league campaign was very successful, winning the majority of my games and being close to the top of the table all season. Finished 3rd and made it to the play-off final, where I beat Hereford 2-1 aet. Turned down some very appealing job offers from Luton and Tranmere as I felt it was too early to leave the Stanley.
More rebuilding this summer, as I have about 4 players who are good enough to play league football, its gonna be a busy pre-season and if I can keep Accrington in league two it will probably be my greatest CM/FM achievement yet.

Season 2007/08
Well despite promotion, the financial situation still isn’t too great and I was only given £40k to spend and a wage budget that I was already above. My summer signing spree didn’t go as planned as my scouts found very few players. I ended up selling three of my best players for decent amounts of money, and brought in 2 decent wingers and a central midfielder.
After being 4-0 down at half time in the 1st game I thought this was going to be a very long season. But my small squad began to click and the League 2 defences simply couldn’t cope with my wingers. We began to pick up points and by January I found myself top of the league, and for the rest of the season I was constantly up and around the play-off places, mainly because my own inconsistency was matched by every other team in the league. I was offered the Southampton and Wolves jobs mid-season, but didn’t fancy either.
I went out of the League and LDV Vans in the 1st rounds, but managed to reach the 3rd round of the FA Cup where I was beaten by Wigan. To my surprise, my squad stayed pretty much injury free all season. I put this down to having signed a 63 year old female physio. I know that the thought of being massaged by a granny would be all the motivation I needed to stay fit and healthy.
About 3 points had separated the teams from 2nd to 10th all season, as nobody could seem to find any kind of winning form. I managed to win 4 in a row in March/April, and ended up finishing 3rd gaining automatic promotion. I was almost disappointed by this, as I felt that I had only won promotion due to the poor quality of the other teams, and not because of any great quality or achievement from my team. The fact that my strikers from the Conference scored 52 between them in the league illustrates how bad the other teams were. Still, on to League 1 we go…..

Teams often go straight through League 2 IRL. CM/FM always seems to have League 2 a bit too easy for my liking, however.
