Default A LLM-update first-timer's first update...

Okay, here it goes...my first llm-update...

Somehow ended up in charge of newly promoted Alfreton, figured it would be a good
stepping stone to future glory.

Season 1: 2005/06

Alfreton

Players in: 7 (total fee: £0)
Players out: 4 (total fee: £2K)

Nationwide North: 19th W 11, D 11, L 20, P 44

FA Trophy: Second Qual. Round
FA Cup: Third Qual. Round

with no money to spend I would have to rely on my scout to find some
decent freebies. Ended up bringing in 7 players, and got rid of four
of the dead dead-woods.

Not a spectacular season by any means, avoided relegation by 1 point,
and cup-runs were non-existent.

Season 2: 2006/07

Alfreton

Players in: 6 (total fee: £0)
Players out: 5 (total fee: £5K)

Nationwide North: 5th W 17, D 16, L 9, P 67

Fa Trophy: Fourth Round
FA Cup: Third Qual. Round

Still no money to spend, but managed to get in 6 freebies of decent quality,
and getting rid of five players, with a nice profit of £5K from my transfer dealings.

With the new players I got in during the season, I expected to be able fight for a
mid-table finish. Was a little surprised when I didn't lose any of my first 22 games
and being a promotion contender by christmas...but then went on a run which ended
with 9 losses in my remaining 20 matches...It was just enough to secure a place in
the play-offs. Gained promotion after first winning the semi-final after a
penalty-shootout with a total of 23 missed penalties!!!, and my goalie was the hero of the
day by scoring on both his penalties. Beat Leigh RMI in the final without any struggles.

Season 3: 2007/08

Alfreton

Had a decent start to the season in the conference, but had a major fall-out with the
board when I confirmed that I would be interested in taking over as Wrexham-manager.
In the middle of November I resigned and moved on to pastures new.

Wrexham

League Two: 21st W 14, D 10, L 22, P 52

Took over the reigns at league two strugglers Wrexham, with a contract till the end of
the season and a promise of a new one if I avoided relegation. I did avoid relegation
and I got a new contract

Season 4: 2008/09

Wrexham

Players in: 6 (total fee: £1K)
Players out: 6 (total fee: £0K)

League Two: 18th W 17, D 7, L 22, P 58

League Cup: First Round
FA Cup: Third Round
Vans Trophy North: Semi Final

With a massive £2K to bring in new players, I brought in 6 new faces for a total of £1K
and got rid of five. Not much to say about this season really, improved a little bit on the
league performance compared to last season. Also had a few short cup-runs.

Season 5: 2009/10

Players in: 8 (total fee: £0)
Players out: 1 (total fee: £0)

League Two: 9th W 17, D 16, L 13, P 67

League Cup: First Round
FA Cup: First Round
Vans Trophy North: Second Round

My scout did a really good job last season, and identified quite a few players who looked
like they would be more than good enough to improve my squad.

With the new players I was very confident of at least a mid-table finish. Was fighting near the
play-off spots during all season, and ended up three points short of a play-off place.

Season 6: 2010/11

Have brought in a 17-year old this summer who I have high hopes for, already made him the
vice-captain. Three players have left on a free.

The bookmakers have me as one of the favourites for promotion this season, which have put a lot
of pressure on my players. Not the best of starts though, two points from the first seven games
and a goal difference of 3-18...so I should probably get back to my team and do something
aboout that now...

'Ere, Ian. How is it when you found out I was a veggie you threatened to ban me, yet a newbie comes along and you welcome him with open arms?

I feel hurt...

Be a man, eat some meat!

Great update, btw.

And Ian, I never would have taken you for a veg. I'm still in denial.

Season 6: 2010/11:

12th January:

League Two: W 5, D 6, 16, P21, 23rd

League Cup: First Round
FA Cup: Second Round
Vans Trophy: First Round

After a horrific start to the season, I ended up getting sacked in
early January. Not a good season for Wrexham, who got relegated in
the end.

Went on a holiday for the rest of the season...

Season 7: 2011/12:

At the start of the new season I applied for the job as Leek Town-
manager. Was offered a three year contract, which I accepted.

With a transfer budget of £10K, my biggest so far in my career,
and after a quick glance at my squad and around the town of Leek, I think
I actually might enjoy my stay here...

It's just a matter of time now before the likes of Liverpool and
Tottenham are overtaken by the veggies of Leek Town...
