leading a never-heard of team... Meet St. Albans !
well , i was up for a challenge lately so i decided to start off with a conferense north/south team
after looking for a team , i thought St. Albans was a pretty cool name so i picked them
a first look at the team learned me that it would be pretty hard to make a challenge for the title , but i was up for it
starting with a wage budget of 3200€ / week and no transfer budget
to start with , i signed 3 players , one on free transfer and 2 for 1k€
looking at my friendly matches , i thought that it would be a long and difficult challenge. but after 16 league games , we find ourselves in a comfortable 4th place now.
i had an unbeaten run of 12 games but then i had to play against weymouth , the leader in the league , a big loss of 3-0 waas the result
after that game i didn't lose anymore , but many drawed games agains relative easy opponents
so my 4th place after 16 games is not that bad
8 won , 7 drawn and 1 lost
my goal is to win promotion to the conference national.
at the cups i was doing very well
FA cup , won all 4 of the qualification rounds , and hammered carlisle in the first round , but after the draw of the 2nd round i knew enough , we had to face swansea , which would be verey difficult
my worries were true , we got slammed in both games , but we can look back at a succesfull FA cup run
in the FA Trophy , we also won the 3 qualification rounds , and drew Hyde in the first round , wich is my first game coming up now.
So far so good i guess , i will keep this thread up to date as soon as i am a bit further in my challenge.
