I'm in the "between seasons" months busy trying to find players and i don't have time to care about finetuning tactics of caring about wich player needs to be substituted during a friendly against a no-name team.

End of the season is usually very tense, and can decide whether it's a succesful one or not. The summer is boring as hell, but I setup and play the friendlies as usualy matches, except for some extra subs. If it wasn't for needed signings I'd just holiday the period.

Pre-season is ****ing boring, but necessary to get your players up to match fitness and to allow your summer signings to blend into the squad and system.

I love preseason  For all the reasons Nobby stated and so many more. I usually do all my signings outside the transfer window so don't have to worry about that over summer.
I hate WC years though, it takes forever with one game per day you have to sit there watching the bloody screen and clicking 'continue' :thdn:

I hate pre-season. Usually send myself on holiday to trim it down to just July to sort my squad out if I haven't already at the end of the prior campaign.
As for the end of a season like a few others I tend to always still have something to aim towards. If not then I just settle for watching the goal updates between my highlights.

I've always let my assman arrange and manage friendlies before. But this season I sold a star youngster to Lazio and got a friendly as part of the deal. My assman arranged another with Arsenal the next week. Both games were picked for television!
This has never happened before . My AIK team normally gets sent to play Norwegian obscurities. I was so excited that I played both games with extended highlights and treated them like cup finals.

Pre season is one of my busiest times, signing new players, taking out the trash (players) and what not. Also during World Cup and Euro championships, I watch a lot of the matches.

I take the preseason really serious. As it is a good way to test your tactics and your players.
I do agree that if you are at the end of a season and you're out for the prices it can be quite boring. But these matches still can be used for testing these promising players in your youth and reserve squads.
And scouting to improve the weak positions in your squad
