There's two definite and distinct reasons, Stan:
1) In order to introduce themselves to us. "What can I play?" is like "How do you do?", I'm Bob, I want to get on with you blokes.
2) Hah, you bunch of no-hopers...I've won the CL with Chelski, using WaNkAnO, editing another £100m into the coffers and making all my players super-men. Now give me your worst team, I'lldo exactly the same as I did with Chelski and I'll show you fools how to do it.
Option 1 accounts for about 0.5%, option 2 for 99.5%.
