In my current game as Yeading I'm in my 3rd season in the Conference National, but I still enter the FA Cup (and Trophy) at the 2nd Qualifying Round, whereas most other Conference clubs get bys to the 4th QR and 1st Round respectively.

Does anyone know what the rules are for this?

Notwithstanding the 2 previous posts, it would seem there is some kind of problem with cup draws in FM06. There was a chap on here the other day saying that his Gainsborough team never got to play in the FA Cup at all, so you should count yourself lucky.

May I suggest posting this in the bugs forum?

Yes, but they would suck a lot less if I didn't have to play so many games just to qualify. I have visions of getting into the league and still having to see off Arseville United in the 2nd QR every year.

Because of Conference expansion to 24 clubs, the two teams promoted to the Conference via the playoffs enter the Cup and Trophy at the Second Qualifying Round stage because of the number of teams involved. This doesn't affect the teams promoted as champions, they go in at the Fourth Qualifying Round and First Round respectively.
