Default Non-League Teams

There was an interesting question asked on GQ (for a change ) about whether a team below the playable leagues could get promoted to the 'full' leagues.

As the most likely people to have done such a thing, I wondered if anyone here has taken charge of a team that started the game below the lowest active leagues and taken them to, for example, League Two (Eng)?

If not, it might be an interesting challenge...

We've all managed such teams, I'd guess. I thoroughly enjoyed managing Enfield, for example, although I was eventually put off by the fact they don't own their stadium and thus couldn't expand.

Santurtzi \o/ :*)

Europa de Nava \o/ :**)

Even though it was CM03/04 it still was lots of fun (though pretty unrealistic as in me winning some european major trophy with Europa de Nava ).

Can see how that would become a problem after a while...

Are there any teams at that level which do own their own stadium?

Merthyr Tydfil lease Penydarren Park, but if the proposed move to Merthyr Village goes ahead, they will own that outright. Not sure if this is reflected in the game though.

I think a fair few of the minnows around my way do.

Answering one of the original questions, I managed Chertsey Town for a while back on 99/00 or 00/01. Can't remember how far I took them though.

Billericay Town (into the UEFA Cup) & Newport County (into Division Two) for me.

That was 01/02 though. Trying with Billericay again in FM06 now, though had the advantage of joining them when they had reached the Conference.
Currently not succeeding.
