Fair enough. My A levels are obviously a result of the dumbing down of the English education system.

As far as I can tell, the idea of LLM is running a lower league team on your own steam without the need for "tipping or bragging". I've done both while attempting to help people in other fora who don't feel that this constraint is neccessary.

If I don't fit into this clique, that's fine, but I thought that the fact that I was a lower league manager who fit into the rules while playing with these teams (Hereford, Wuppertal, Juventus Buc. etc.) allowed me to participate in the conversations here. If I'm not allowed, I'm sorry.

I obviously don't get it. If someone can explain intelligently what I've done wrong, I'm eager to listen.

Millie, I'll try to explain.

LLM is about playing as realistically as the game allows. This means no prior or outside knowledge. Each game is its own self contained world. By posting in T&T and GPG you are tainting your knowledge and bringing outside knowledge into the game. It doesnt matter if you are giving or receiving tips and info it is not realstic from a LLM ethos perspective.

Example: you won't see Chelski Manager and Arsenal Manager discussing tactics and players. I doubt "left handed sweeper" was written on the christmas card.

I hope this explains it better as to why LLM and T&T and GPG are mutually exclusive fora.

Millie - if you look at my posting history you'll see that I used to be active on T&TT. However, the rules here state that the two are mutually exclusive and therefore you have to decide whether this is the place for you. If you are serious about playing to the LLM ethos then you have to accept the guidelines and restrictions that have grown from a common consensus when this forum was formed from a previous forum (read the history thread for a recap).

There's nothing wrong with you posting in T&TT and playing LLM, but people here have agreed to abide by the 'house rules' and if you're not willing to follow them then you'll be considered impolite at the very least and possibly much worse...

If you truly see the light, you'll find yourself averting your eyes from player naming and tactics discussions, because you don't want to be influenced, even subconsciously. If you don't understand that mentality then perhaps, again, this isn't the place for you.

So far you've had a very mellow introduction; you're just lucky the JockModPoof seems to be asleep...

Yes there is. The two are mutually exclusive, it is not just some stupid rule dreamt up to confuse newbies, it has logic. If you are playing in a realstic way then T&T and GPG are out. As there is no equivalent in the real world. The Chelski, Arsenal and Man Ure blokes don't jump on a BBS and discuss players and tactics. You have to work it out for yourself that is the challenge and wonder of LLM.

I'll put it very simply.

By going into, and posting in, TT&T, you are tipping. You say you're not asking for yourself, but helping others. Sure sounds like tipping to me.

If you need any additional clarification, read this post over and over.

Physim - you misunderstand me. "Playing" LLM can be done by anyone - GPGers, T&TTers, whoever. However, my point above states implicitly that playing LLM style and being a 'true' Llama, as has been stated many times here, are different things. I thought the paragraph after that statement made that clear.

Thanks jcb

Just to play Devil's Advocate, if I were managing a real-life LL team, one of the first things I'd do would be to boot up FM, load that devil scout program and search my little boots off...

Not in any way suggesting this validates use of said spawn in the game though...

That probably wouldn't help you at all IRL as the players are not exactly life like at the lowest level. The stats vary from save to save.

I'd still do it though. Just in case I unearthed a gem.
