Gamewise, cups are a major pain in the arse. They may bring in a bit of extra cash, but in the Woking save I had we didn't get too far anyway so it didn't bother me in the slightest.

Real life, of course I know the difference between the FA Cup and the waste of space SSC. The SSC is mainly a proving ground for our youngsters against ****ty little teams (a 13-0 win against Camberley proves it) and when we were making progress in the FA Cup in the early to mid-nineties the club relied on FA Cup income, which nearly saw us go under financially.

Personally, in the game all cups suck, IRL the FA Cup (and FA Trophy to an extent) are great for us little clubs as long as don't rely on the icome to survive.

Haven't found any cups down here in the Brazilian 3rd division. Even if there was a cup though, my players coudn't play any worse anyway.

I love the cups, I will always try and get a nice run. Always have, always will. I thought Ian would disagree.

Cups are ok (especially FA Cup) if you progress past the qualifying stage and are lucky enough to be drawn against Man U/ Chelsea/ Arsenal on their home turf. This is what i cross my fingers for often in my early career.
Then i promptly run out my reserves/U18 team, get hammered 9-0 and walk home with pocketfuls of cash.

Otherwise, yes they do suck arse.

Maybe we could have the FA Vase? - Cups are good fun -they break the monotony of League matches

Do we not get any enjoyment out of playing/winning cup matches/competitions...?

Especially against higher league opposition....
