Default Lower league management experience - Maidenhead United

Hi there...

My names Robert and I am a West Ham United fan (hence my user name).

Anyway it's my birthday today and have decided to record the trials and tribulations of lower league management.

My club is Maidenhead United and I aim hopefully to adhere and to at least match what is required of me from the chairman and the fans.

After only being registered for just under a month I have not posted as much as I have wanted to (due to Christmas & New Year) however I can now contribute more to the website and this topic is based upon the daily basis of managing my team Maidenhead United.

My younger brother is also playing as well and is currently manager of Worksop Town.

Club Background & History
---------------------------------
Maidenhead United history

Recent hitsory

After being founder member of the new Nationwide Conference South in 2004 the 2004/2005 season was pretty much a disaster with team selling many of their decent players and finishing in 20th of the 22 teams in the league however due to the folding of Hornchurch in the same division the club remained in the Conference South for the 2005/2006 season.

Board & Supporter expectation
-----------------------------

Both the board & supporters expect to fight bravely against relegation this season.

My personal opinion is that I am relieved in a sense that losing my job of the team will be pretty remote as long as I am able to avoid relegation & I manage the clubs finances well.

Current Squad
--------------------

Hardly surprising really after as I said earlier in that most of the decent players have been sold and that those which have been replaced have been with lesser great counterparts.

Therefore I shall have to buy some players and over the course of the season release or sell those players that don't quite cut the league

Welcome Robert, just make sure to read the forum header there are some unusual rules in the forum because of the way we play FM2006. So read the forum header to avoid any problems.
