I did it, though, but I waited until the second season, when I took charge of a recently promoted club to Conference North. That's a lot better.

I started unemployed in FM06 as a Scottish boss, none of the Conference North/South teams would offer me a job, but come February Kidderminster sack their boss and offer me the post. Seems like I'm not good enough at the start of the season for lowest league clubs, but by February some teams are getting desperate!. How realistic this is I don't know, but teams sometimes panic when things are going badly towards the end of the season and change a boss, last years SPL being a good example.

I don't buy that realism argument anyway. It's unrealistic no matter what that any of us would ever get a managing job. If we already assume that we will eventually get a job at some club anyway, what difference does it make if Frank chooses it or the game?
