Frankly I've never seen the sense in starting unemployed, you're going get a job, so why not just pick a team. As kov says it only gives you a chance to start as a higher level team As the poofs here say: Frank is the only sure way

I can understand from where mostly new guys think that sacking is being a LLaMa and playing LLM. It is not. It is, what most of us aare occasionally, but it is definately not LLM. It is a series of consequences. LLM is about taking one of the crappiest clubs to possible glory or at least as high as possible. It is about success after many sleepless nights, after understanding that managing a club is not only buying the first good player that looks OK. It is about giving everything you got, so the club just might not get relegated or perhaps even get promoted.

Please, read forum header once again or perhaps one of the elder updates. It should clear your minds.

Cosmo, I guess its just an issue of immersion. I want to feel that a good job offer is a reward for doing well. I lose that sense of immersion when I have to turn down job offers because they are unrealistic in relation to my achievements. It bugs me. I can't help that.

Maybe being Andorran is the way to go. But would that rule me out of ever getting the England job, even if I was by far the greatest manager the world has ever seen?

Never heard it summed up quite so succinctly. GW

Reason for this question was that it looks realistic to me that a fresh face in the world of football managers will have to start unemployed.
It is not likely that clubs will sack their current manager and give you the opportunity to replace him.
New faces do not have a reputation at all unless you have played yourself on a professional level resulting in some sort of reputation.
It sounds reasonable to me that only clubs without a manager would consider hiring a relative unknown manager.

Problem remains that if eg you start up a game with the English leagues Exeter will offer you a job. Hopefully this is something that will be solved in FM6.

Seems to me that there is a rough agreement on the key matters here.

a) Currently, starting unemployed is not ideal for LLM
2) It would be good if this feature were made more realistic
III)Frank currently is the best option for LLM
d) I am probably just stating the obvious

That was the conclusion that we reached in November 2004, yes. Nothing has changed.

Yet another 'stating the bleeding obvious' thread. It really is amazing the old timers are so tolerant at times.

/me gives thanks.
