Naturally, when I'm one goal up with a few minutes left I whack the time wasting slider all the way up, but my players don't seem to be wasting much time. I remember on FM07 (I think), when I went to full on time wasting my players would run it into the corners and take their time over set pieces.
I'm leaving them playing with an attacking mentality as I want them to continue going forward to waste time at the other end rather than containing the other team since I know my defenders are not good enough.
Is anyone else having trouble with wasting time, or are their other sliders that also need to be changed?
i change it to defensive too sometimes and it worked better. but i agree in fm 07 the goalie would basically refuse to kick the goal kick and let the striker keep tapping it to him back and fourth and that was too unreleastic but i know what you mean!

I'm not having a problem with this at all. My wide attacking players take the ball to the corber regularly rather than attack the goal.
This might be linked to the defensive instructions given to my team overall.
That's probably it then, it's probably their attacking instructions with CF that is causing them to ignore my instructions to waste time.
I guess I'll have to save a new copy of my tactic with time wasting instructions so I can revert to that rather than changing each players instructions while the other team score.
