So - if SI scrapped them for FM09 - would people be too bothered do you think?

I have never heard of anyone using them at all, though you do apparently get some interesting regens on it.

People do use it. I guess there's a challenge in there for those that feel like taking it on. I wouldn't miss it if it went.

I started a game with random names in a much earlier version of CM, but it didn't last long - I felt totally overwhelmed by the amount of "new" data.

I never tried it again, although now I play LLM it probably wouldn't create the same issues, as I'm more used to the scouting of unknowns than I was a few years ago.

I'm playing it with random names the first time since years. It's still a bit crap, as some unusual names are coming up way to often.

But the main reason for me was the facegen feature. It's nice to have a game full with facegen players in every squad.

How the hell have you gotten there? I wish I could get that far, but I never do.

I think it's great way of creating a new challenge and as long as it's not impeding anything more important, which it isn't (I actually suspect it's useful in testing the regen/FRED system to the max), I'll always be for it.

If you play multiplayer with the same people it's also useful as reduces the fighting over the same players every new game.
