Good job SI Mods. Anyone who tries to redistribute an authors work without permission should be automatically banned and the files/links removed. We do the same at sortitoutsi.net.

At our website, when an author uploads a file he is given the option to ask all those who download that the file not be redistributed anywhere but sortitoutsi.net, and this character's stolen pack contained some of the files that had such a restriction.

It's not hard to ask the author for permission to redistribute the file. I have had people ask me if they could post up some of the files I created on different websites and I gladly abliged. But if someone did something like this without asking, I would probably **** and moan like everyone else. Hell, if he uploaded the E2G glassy logos from our site then he probably did include my USA logos. I didn't get to see the file since the appropriate action was taken before I saw this thread.

Oh for goodness sake you lot, grow up will you.

People who make addons to the game do so because they: a) Enjoy the business of creating these things, (b) See a need (in their mind) for the feature in the game and (c) In some cases get enjoyment out of sharing their work with others.

So someone picked up that work, packaged it into a bundle and offered it to the community. I would have thought the knowledge that their work is recognised by others would suffice. If you put your name to a logo pack or whatever, I am not going to remember your name for five seconds, all I am interested in is if your work is good, and suits my needs in playing the game.

How many of you can tell me ( without looking ) 12 of the names associated with programming FM2007...... I would suggest almost none of you. Why, because you take out the CD, install the game, and start playing.

Same with the movies, how many people actually watch the credits at the end and could recall a single name in two hours time, again almost none I would suggest.

I for one applaud all the work that is done, but guys, take a powder and don't that excited. I'm sure we all appreciate it, and while I can understand your anger, I think it is probably a little misplaced, even if I'm sure, well intentioned.

You claimed you would download the pack anyway regardless. We've established that the pack is clearly goes agasint community spirit and that the 'compiler' lacked any integrity or morals.

I'd say it's fair to assume that if you would download a pack like that then you take on that tag too. How can your espect the graphics makers whilst saying you'd download such a pack?

It's the same as downloading an illegal copy of FM. You can't download one then say 'well, I still support SI'. No you would be supporting piracy and.

Over 500 people have downloaded the pack then, ok. Getting towards 3000 people have viewed this thread . Plus I suspect many people didn't read down the thread further and just clicked the download link (the first damning post doesn't appear unless you scroll down).

I wasn't 'gobbing off' either, just stating facts as I saw them.
