Ive been playing around with setting one DC to closed down (4 ticks right) and one less so (4 ticks left)
On the pitch view, its intersting, because when an attacking player approaches the defence, the DC goes forward, and the line stabalises quicker instead of a massed retreat as they all trot back as no-one is closing down. + the wing backs are in better shape to get the ball and distribute it if the DC makes the tackle.
Just a different approach really, not tested past a couple of matches yet.
I'm pleasantly surprised that this method is working so far. I've conceded 1 goal in 14 games right now. I am going to test more, but it's looking ridiculously good at this point.
After conceding just one goal in 14 games, I ended up conceding 22 in a 38-game season.
I guess I conceded 21 goals in 24 games from that point on. Not sure if this D set up got cracked, but it wasn't as impressive as how it started out.
