Can someone tell me what key and secondary attributes are needed for a fullback? also, when training your players do you train them according to where they naturally play or where you want them to play?
Thanks

Positioning, tackling, pace and anticipation are just some of the important characteristics that make for a good full-back.
That's the official word from SI or else, what's said in the game. The rest of the attributes you go after should be down to the way you like to play, really and what you look for in a full back. It's a hard one because there's different ways you can play with them. If you're not that fussed about finding a full back suited to a particular style or whatever, the basic outline's probably the way to go.

Full backs are really complicated beasts, since beyond tackling and stamina, it's difficult to recommend one style of full back, since it depends what you use them for. If you want to attack with them, you want things such as pace, dribbling, crossing, creativity etc., and if you want them to defend you want a bigger, better positioned, good concentrating sort.

i would recommend positional attributes and concentration. e.g vanden borre has all other attributes like tackling stamin aetc but he gets caught out of position cos of his poor positioning atrributes which costs goals. Although he will still perform well.
Hope that makes sense

Yup I would rate positioning as the most important attribute. fullbacks generally should not have to tackle and can get away with mediocre tackling, marking is also not that important since they almost always have cover. Pace is good to have all over the team, even if I favour acceleration more. Anticipation to break up attacks is also very useful if not key. Crossings for those deep crosses are very useful especially in a targetman formation.
Generally I look for positioning and anticipation and then flavour that with what suits the team.
If I'd like to crash down the wings with all the players you've got then off the ball, passing, crosses, creativity and the like become important.
If I'd want them to basicly cover their ground and kill the opposition wingers I would look for marking, tackling, concentration, aggression, bravery, and strength maybe even some jumping.

| Always train them according to how you want them to play. What's the point of doing otherwise?
