Another attempt at tactic making for me. I have had great success with these tactics (however odd they may look), and find that more than how you match up tactically, the game becomes more about how your players perform which is what I was shooting for.
Note: The most important player is a good targetman. The tactics simply wont be successful without it. The best targetman (ive found) for higher teams is Luca Toni, and for lowers team ($2.2 mil) is Eddie Johnson. Feel free to suggest other good TMs!
My main HOME tactic is a 4-1-2-3 with no real midfield. The three forwards drop back into the midfield to help out. The two wings and fullbacks swap positions, which I help creates good runs down the side for fullbacks without risking too much defensively.
There is also an alternative HOME tactic which is a little more attacking with a stronger midfield base. This should be used if your low on strikers, you have a real strong midfield team, or the first home tactic simply isnt working for you. It is a 3-1-3-1-2 :]
Lastly, the away tactic. This was a tough nut to break, but I think I got a pretty stable tactic. This is the weaker of the tactics (as away tactics always are). It is a 4-1-2-1-2 with a counterattack mindset.
Overall... you should get more chances, more shots, more possession than the other team unless they are very superior. Another main point is during the 80th minute in the game, if you are up the other team will usually use a 4-2-4 tactic which I have found is best countered with Crazy's 4-2-2-2. Employ that once they switch to 4-2-4 and you will really let in goals.
As I said, the most important player is the target man, and then the 2nd most important are your 1 or 2 other strikers. Fast, quick, skilled men are best for the sides rather than tall or aerially giften individuals.
One last thing is that if you have troubles with away form, try using the home tactics... I have won 7-0 and such with home tactics away, although it is definitly not consistant at all.
If there is anything I missed please let me know. I will be adding screenshots of my success once I get around to playing some games. Let me know how you guys do with this. Good luck :]
That is Crazy's 4-2-2-2's "Kill Game" Tactic that I was talking about, by the way :] The only big error I found (ignore the late night spelling or grammer errors :p)
The middle striker (or in case of the two, the right one... the one in the center of the field) is the targetman. Be sure to make him your set targetman in the instructions area or else he will not be used as one. I think thats all...

I haven't had a chance ot look at the tactics but do you use global mentalities and passing or individual?
Arsenal, Everton, Reading, and Chelsea. Obviously Arsenal and Chelsea produced better results, but with Everton I won 8 of my first 9, and with reading 7 of my first 10... ill be providing league tables and screenshots and all those goods once I play some more games.
And I use individual mentalities more than global.
As for United, it keeps them on task =P I've found arrows help you cover more of the field successfully
I've started a new season with Arsenal to show the tactic... my purchases were: Luka Modric, Eddie Johnson, Freddy Adu, Franck Ribery, Elano, Renato Augusto, Anthony Vanden Borre, and Vincent Enyeama... with a few minor sales (Jeremie Alidiere, Poom, etc.). So overall no real big boost in the team except for Ribery, the rest are more future players.
Im only ten games in but here are my fixtures so far:
The only game I really deserved to not win was the Aston Villa game. I had many injures and the squad I did have just didn't play well, while AV played really well. Other than that, the stats stand:
8 won, 1 drawn, 1 lost
28 goals for (2.8) to 3 goals against (0.3)
I will be playing more games tonight and this weekend (Spring break starts) so will let you know more.
But also... this game is ridiculous with injuries. I have had the most injuries in the league throughout the whole season, ranging from 6 to 14 injuries at a time. Ten games in, I have 12 injuries, and Sheff Utd is second with 6. These injuries come from training, games and internations equally.. I just seem to have terrible luck. I never seem to have my three strikers (Henry, RVP, Adebayor) all fit at the same time, which makes my attacking lines thin! But thats the game I presume.
My hand hurts :] Someone else please try these and let me know how they work for you!
And the injuries continue.. Henry out of 3 weeks, Van Persie for 2 weeks, Ribery out for 2 months, and Julio Baptista for 3 weeks. I have no attacking power left :/
