I am finding this game hard, as the title suggests. I am not looking for a win-all tactic, but a good one for my Man Utd team.

I want to play the standard flat 4-4-2 formation and get some good results. I usually have forward runs on Giggs on the left wing and Ronaldo on the right. I make my team have an attacking approach to any game, and I start any game with Creative Freedom on the first slider of Much. I have a mixed passing style with the tempo set at Quick.

I don't tweak my Player Instructions because I am just utterly clueless, so I leave them at the default setting. I just tweak my global mentality setting.

I have just drawn with Bolton at home, all because of Nicolas Anelka and lost 3-0 to Dinamo Kiev in the Champions league conceding a 25 yarder and a free-kick on the way!

I need to know what I should tweak and when, do I need player instructions, and how to setup against say Derby or Blackburn or the Big 3. Should I read the scout reports, and how to deal with the dangerman, e.g. His pace will cause a problem.

If you have any suggestions on how to setup the team please post, any help would be appreciated.

Once again I am tactically clueless and it took me about a year to make a decent tactic on FM 2007.

Same here i'm finding it easy. 10 gamea in with man utd lost 1 and won 9 with 4 conceded

I'm finding it hard with LLM teams due to the CD, however easier wither higher tier teams as it's easy to exploit the CD bug. Not started playing properly yet though as the closing down bud stops me from building a tactic, as all my tactics are either based on playing deep, low closing down and countering or high pressure up front stopping the opposition playing forward.

Yes you do, is the short answer. I'm surprised you didn't find "lol i find it teh EZ" as a useful comment, Dandy. :p

A system such as TT&F (the '07 version of which can be found here) are reasonably logical in what they do, but do rely quite a bit on changing individual instructions. Some people play with a lot of "global" settings (just using the team instructions) and have had success too.

One piece of advice would be to download some tactics and see what other people do with their settings. There are some general things (like having low closing down on centre backs, high creative freedom on flair players, etc.) that quite a lot of tactics make use of.

Personally, I would start with the first page of TT&F and see if that helps you. :thup:

Last year, I read through TT&F and created the 14 tactics for my Inter team with player instruction and mentalitys.

I had a 4-4-2 diamond and managed over 5 seasons to win the league 5 times, a few domestic cups and eventually the Champions League.

Could I just not copy them over and use them or should I copy over and tweak them or should I just make up a new set?

It might work. The engines are similar. However, high closing down tactics are unlikely to work (as efficiently as before) until the game is patched.

The only way to know for sure is to try it.
