I'll keep Rio, thank you very much. I imagine his PA is high and in a few years he will be tremendous and stay at that level. I also like defenders who wont get beat for pace! I hate seeing a striker run in on goal and love it when the defender can catch him up and make the tackle.
Also, money has NEVER been a problem for me with Utd. Within two years (at most) I am sitting on transfer budgets that won't come close to being spent...and this is before the new youngsters start to come through.
This Utd team doesn't need 50 million worth of additional players! I'll build the way I usually do.
Oh yeah...F-Chelsea!

more to the point of selling rio was that i'd prefer vidic or heinze at DC. i was prepared to keep rio as i imagine he is good but if chelski are going to give you £50m...

I use Rio and Heinze with Vidic 3rd. Evra and Neville FB. Neville's time is short lived for me. I bought Eduardo Ratinho on the demo and hope to when the disc arrives (recieved confirmation that it has been shipped from UK, I'm in US)...Ratinho will replace Neville as soon as possible.
I'm also getting excited about my other purchase plans...I think I'll stay away from big money strikers and spend on midfield and a #3 striker instead.
I'm thinking Guardado, Vanden Borre, Cardenas and maybe Arouna Kone. Fernando Gago is tempting too, but what I really want is a MC who can get forward...I may wait 'til second season and go for Julio Baptista. Also Vincent Kompany is the best DM in the game for my style...can defend and get forward.
Raul Garcia was a good suggestion, but he looks a little expensive...course this is where the sell Rio argument comes in doesn't it?

Shyte!! I sold Rio to Chelski for only 29m. Real Madrid was turned off so i didnt try for more, as i had my own transfer plans to attend to.

Well,
I have now bought FM2007 so of course my first game over the weekend will be Utd.
I will try to follow everyone's lead and sell Rio if the price is right, and will probably print off the wonderkids thread and go from there.
I'll keep you posted on Monday of my progress.
