I'm Arsenal and in summer 2008. Clichy has gone to Real after the chairman intervened and accepted an £18.5m bid for him. I just can't find a decent replacement I can get a bid accepted for. so how much do you have to pay?
I've had £20m offers declined so far for Chiellini, Marcelo (now at AC), Chivu, Lahm, Marcel Jansen. So how much do I have to pay? And who should I aim for anyway?
I've scouted almost every single natural DL worth >£3m in the game and am still not getting anywhere. As a for instance, I thought I'd try for Aurelio, who is languishing in Liverpool's reserves and unhappy. They quoted me £23m! His list value is £3.8m ffs.
But my scouts have come up with about 3-4 4* recommendations, and none of them can I get a bid accepted for. Very frustrating.
Added to that, I keep getting bids in for Traore. I have quoted £6m + 35% plus a buy back to put people off (he's listed at £2m) but bloody Valencia have accepted that.
I had Potenza on loan in the first season, and he did ok. I could get him for £5m, but my scouts consistantly say "only as a last resort". flummoxed.
Ah, Bayern have said they'll accept £19.5m for Jansen. Is that worth it given that no-one else will accept anything? He looks good, but I've tried him before.
Sorted, for better or worse. Leighton Baines and Manuel Pasqual have come in for a combined £19m. Traore has gone to Middlesbrough for £5m, but subject to a next sale percentage and a buy-back clause, so I can buy him back for £4m.
Why the hell would you sell one of the best LB prospects in the game??? And for 5M?? You get plenty of money at Arsenal and dont need the measely 5M man. If you intend to buy him back, why sell him anyway? Send him on loan if you want. Banies and Pasqual dont come close to the quality of Traore after he plays a few games for a couple of years! Get him back before someone else gets him.
He sold him for 5m and can have him back for 4m! so basiclly traore wont be first choice at d moment for his side so he will get a season of premiership experience and then he can have him back at the end of the season and make 1m of a profit. seems like good business to me.
