Just getting ready to start season three. Here's my squad:
GK - Robbo, Kirkland
DL - Taiwo, Edman
DR - Pasanen, Zuiverloon
DC - King, Samba, Leo Schwechlen (Pasanen and Kaboul if needed)
DM - Makoun, Kaboul
AML - Downing
AMR - Babel, Barnes, Torje
AMC - Bresciano, Augusto, Taarabt, Boateng, Wijnaldum
ST - Berbatov, Crouch, Reginaldo, Zeefuik
The Deal:
* Berbatov wants out and I've promised to sell him after Season 2, but no one wants him at a fair price.
* I have too many AMC and AMR so I'm looking to loan out Augusto, Torje, Wijnaldum, possibly Taarabt for more seasoning.
Questions:
- What kind of tactic should I use?

I'm tempted to run a 4-2-3-1 like the boys used against Arsenal IRL. Pro - this would let me play Downing, Bresciano and Babel as my AMs. Con - Doesn't seem to fit my strikers since Crouch and Reginaldo play together well.

I've also thought about a 4-1-3-2 with the fullbacks running up, but worry it's too thin in the middle.
- What do you think about Kaboul. I'm seduced by his ratings, but he hasn't really turned it on yet. Is he better as a DM or a DC? His size and marking seem to make him sound for the defense.
About to kick off on what should be a very solid season, if only I can figure out my tactics.
Nice squad
Loaning out Torje and Wijnaldum sounds like a good idea to me, I don't have any experience with Taarabt.
If you attack with your full-backs, you put a lot of pressure on your central defenders while you're on the back foot. I personally think Kaboul is a better defender than he is a DM.
As for tactics, you won't know how your strikers do solo until you try it. Do you have any pre-seasons friendlies left to test it?
I personally think that with Downing, Bresciano and Babel in midfield, one striker will still get a lot of balls to him and the midfield will probably do a lot of the work themselves anyway. I know Bresciano and especially Babel bury balls for fun.
Downing is a great player, not quite the prospect he was on FM07, but good nonetheless. To be honest though, I would feel a lot more secure with a backup dedicated left winger in case he should fall down to injury.
Any recos on a left winger for a team in season 3 with 13m pounds to spend?
The hardest thing for me is the tactic. I want to stick to one home & one away for the season. Should I be setting a team tactic or get into individual settings? I've done with with team settings, but feel that leveraging my very talented squad could really pay off (or blow up in my face).
