OK, I did a little test a few minutes ago.
I've had a number of offers for one of my central defenders (and by that, I mean 3 or 4 every week for the last 6 months) all of which I have rejected since he's better than his £5k tag, which most of the teams were bidding less than. Flagging him as 'Unavailable For Transfer' had no effect, so I decided to raise his value to £100k. Surprise, surprise, within a couple of days, I had a team come in with a bid for £80k (spread over 2 years, the cheapskates).
I've got another player who's been attracting interest, so I'll see if the same happens with him.
