First, let me just say, to the dev team mainly, that I don't like football. In fact, I even dislike it. Now, don't kill me just yet!
I started playing this game just after release, a friend of mine (football fanatic) telling me that it was the best simulation he ever played. So I tried...and I got hooked right on start! I dumped all the other games I use to play, and now I'm glued on this! So to the dev team: Awesome job, this simulation is so good that even people like me actually play it?!
Anyway, back to topic now, the English championship.
Being French, I first started playing French teams, lower leagues ones (I like challenges). Of course, not knowing anything about football, I sucked at first. After couple seasons and retries, I decided that since I live in the UK now, I should try some UK teams so popped up a new manager and loaded all the English area leagues.
The team I play is Vauxhall Motors, some sucky ECN team. I read a LOT on these forums (thanks everyone) and after many friendlies, came up with two tactics working just fine, one for home and one for away...
And then the season started...20 games without a loss. I was pushing my players so hard that after december, they started to drop like flies and the season was far from over. I had half my Alpha team injured for more than 1 month but still kept on doing at least draws only losing one here and there.
Checking at the fixtures, I realised that the English Championship was INSANE compared to the french one. The matches just KEPT coming at me, every 3 or 4 days PLUS the cup matches. I have no idea how real life players can handle that but it's really insane. Heck, players don't even have some rest during christmas season while in France, they get like 2 or 3 weeks.
How do you guys manage to avoid all these injuries and players being jaded? I tried creating what I called "Relax" training schedules but while they were more rested, they kept getting injured...
Season is over now, Vauxhall Motors won the ECN and is probably going to get totally destroyed next season in Nationals. 5 players are in the top 10 and I went from a heavy money losing team to a VERY profitable one (made 350k first year, started with -12k and no transfer budget).

We get by...
Oh, we don't like to talk about tactics and training routines around here. I know you haven't really done anything technically against our rules, but we start shifting uncomfortably when personal training schedules and tactics are named. Just thought I'd mention it
Glad you're enjoying the game. I am shocked that you don't like football. How can you NOT like football?
Oh, not asking for "tips" or "do this and that". I'm just asking, as a manager of Vauxhall Motors, if you guys have the same problem with the very tight schedules. I mean, managers DO talk to each other
And yea, I don't like football much, sorry. Actually, I don't mind the game itself, but to be 100% honest, it could be Ballroom dancing simulation and be that good and have that depth, I'd play it
Lots of guys here tend to have huge squad sizes (Ian comes to mind, who usually signs half the Scottish population), and in general, it helps not to be too demanding of your players right away, kroc. The UK is different in structure from countries which have a winter break and leagues with only 18 teams, and cups suck ass anyway, especially the replays. ;-)
Personally I like to have two players for every position and a couple of utility players, although it often takes a few seasons before I have the funding to do it.

That's your punishment for staying in the ups way too long.
Come on, it's march and you're still in the Vans Suck Arse cup...
