I live in South Africa and our league also has a little "down time". The English play so much because they have so many teams and they are money hungry.
The more you play the more you get.

I've found that the game is designed for training schedules to be used to their fullest. You would think that giving players a rest or not using all of your possible options might keep them from injury, but SI doesn't seem to agree. Then again, I know that people find success with all sorts of different training setups, so the key is to find one that works for you.

Personally, I use a training setup that seems to result in some early season injuries, but the players seem to develop greater resistance to injury as the season progresses, and we're usually quite healthy. I certainly don't experience the rash of injuries that is often complained about, though I did in past versions of the game while not paying much attention to training.

2006-2007: Vauxhall motors, English Nationals

Well, bit past half season in english Nationals now and 19th on the board. I tried out many things, most of which resulted in very rough games sending my Vauxhalls straight down to 24th.
I'm trying out new things now, which seem to work a bit better, especially with training schedules (Thanks Greg, rest days was a bad idea for sure) and tactics. Slowly catching up, trying to avoid relegation. Gonna be a rough end of seasons for sure.

Thing is, being in a league that is a bit too rough for your team is really bad money for some reason. I'm not getting more fans coming to the stadium, no TV and bad press.
Loans I did were really bad (both players ended up with long term injuries but only did so after ****ing out some of my players). A really good goalie with high aggression and high rush outs is a VERY bad idea...

Anyway, 4 months to go, hopefully will end up 19th and stay in Nationals

Kroc, your probably going to get flamed badly for your update. You can only do updates after 3 seasons. Read the headers.

Well, I'm flameproof so let them come.

99% of the answers in this forum seems to be coming from VERY hostile people and like 70% of the threads not answered with hostility are threads not related to Lower leagues at all.

Thought this was a place for managers of lower leagues to relax and discuss stuff in friendly manners. I was wrong, my mistake. The more I read in this forum, the more I realise it's nothing but an "old school only" place trying to protect their domain or something.
The difference of attitude between people in "normal SI forums" and this one is astonishing.

So enjoy, rename the forum to "soap box" and keep flaming
