I'm currently at the end of the season in my game. How I look for players, is by doing the scout where you can tour thing, and I also use this in the player search - by only searching for players in such countries where I can tour, and that are only transfer-listed or listed for loan.

However, is it LLM ethically right to be able to look for players who may be coming to the end of their contracts that coming summer, but aren't as yet listed or listed for loan - using the player search function ?

Would suggest not - not sure there's any way you could know that without some kind of contact with them (which the game doesn't really allow) - I guess the line would be your scouts would need to recommend them as they may have dug into background, contracts etc etc?

If you haven't scouted a player, you can't have a go at him. All details can be found in The Rules & Guidelines thread under Guidelines.

There's no reason why you shouldn't use the "contract end" filter on your scout lists, but actually using the Player Search screen is a bit dodgy, in my eyes.

Any scout worth his salt would have found out how long any player had to go on his contract.

The thing is though Ian - will managers in RL be aware of who is transfer listed, and who is available for loan ? Would seem daft if they weren't (if you understand).

I know what you're saying, and I know all the arguments surrounding the issue.

The way we get round it, or deal with it, in LLM is to say that the game doesn't allow us transfers.com, the PFA transfers list and what not so we use the scout lists as judiciously as we can.

It's the old thing, though...guidelines are guidelines so if you feel it's warranted to use the Search Screen to find players who are coming up to the end of their contract, then go ahead.

After all the AssMan will tell you who's a legitimate target.
