Default Nuneaton's young guns rise up the leagues

Team---Nuneaton Borough
Nations---England
Leagues---All
Database size---Huge
Detail---Full

SEASON 1

After a few disastrous saves with Eastleigh, Stafford, Northwich Victoria (the list goes on) i decided to have a blast with Nuneaton borough of the English Conference North.

With a healthy transfer budget of £20,000 and wage budget of £10,000 I was surely going to achieve the board’s expectations of a respectable league finish.

In pre season i played only one friendly as my team was constantly chopping and changing, with 21 players leaving the club for a total of £35k, and 27 coming in for a total of 35k. Such a huge squad was mainly built up of youth players under the age of 17, as i saw that as the only way forward.

After a good start to the season i was drifting around the playoff spots until Christmas. Thereafter it all went downhill as my loan players left and injuries took over. i went on a run of no wins in twelve and by the end of the season was marooned in the bottom half, eventually having to accept a disappointing 17th place finish.

FA cup--- 1st round 1-5 Bradford
FA Trophy--- 2nd round 0-2 Burton

P W D L F A PTS 42 11 15 16 53 59 48

NOTES
- Kettering dominated the league from start to finish
-My god like striker from a non league side was my top scorer with 19 goals from 37 games and made 10 assists.
-penned a new one year deal at the club

SEASON 2

With all my transfer funds withdrawn, wage budget slashed, and 50k in the red, the boards expectations of a top half finish were unlikey.

Despite the doom and gloom around the club, i was able to rsie 110k in transfer fund by getting 36 players out, including my star left back to bolton for 75k. with such funds i brought in 40 players for a total of 14k, again the majority being 17 or under.

This season saw my lowest ever attendance of 968 vs worcester

FA cup---2nd round 0-1 hartlepool
FA trophy---2nd round 0-3 Cambridge

with the influx of youth players, i played my reserves vs under 18's once a week, and this seemed to have a dramatic effect. At the start of the season, the majority of my first team squad was made up of youth players who had excelled in the under 18's. most noticably my two striker (16) had scored over 30 goals each by christmas, so i put them in my first team.

Over the course of the season i maintained top spot with a perfect blend of youth and experience. i even rejected a 650k offer for my youth central midfielder form high flying swansea.

P W D L F A PTS 42 29 6 7 97 47 93

NOTES
-My goals scored and points gained is a conference north record
-My god like striker scored 22 in 36, and again won my player of the year
-My to 16 year old strikers contibuted 11 goals in 13 games and 25 in 24 games.
-Signed a new 1 year deal

SEASON 3

After hearing that the conference is hard to get out of, i was preparing for the worst as my expectations were to fight braverly against relagation.

After playing no friendlies,i decided to concentrate on tranfers. i brouhgt in 65 players for 220k, and sold/released 13, including my star midfielder for £1.6m to Dundee Utd(though i regretted it as he was amazing)

With attendances quadroupling sine 18 months ago to over 4000 per game i was making large sums in gate reciepts. with the sale of my midfielder i asked for improvment in my training, which was turned down.

During this season i had 100 players on my book, owever, they only made a total of 22k in wage a week, as the majority were 17 or younger.

My youths were beginning to gain premiership interest, as i repeatedly turned down £2.7m offers for my strikers. who had now gained places in the England u19's squad-though they are still 17!!! my two youth goalies were brought in the welsh and northern irish under 19's squads, and my other youh triker got a call into the scottish u19's.

Suprisingly, i was in the top two positions all year, battling with exeter for the title. eventually pipping them to it on the last day!!!

More importantly, i got to my first ever cup final, where i played hereofrd for the FA trophy. not suprisingly i lost 2-1 to my centre halfs late own goal!! i was gutted. a huge 11000 went to watch the game at wembley.

P W D L F A PTS 46 29 7 10 98 48 94

NOTES
---my best youth striker is now worth £1.2m and scored 35 in 45, with the other scoring 28 in 30 games.
---i signed a new 1 year deal at the club

WTF?
I am just guessing here but were any players complaining that here was too much competition for first team places?
