Four legs, a knife and a nice hat. If he manages to stay up for 90 minutes maybe he'll be a bargain for clubs higher in the echelons of football.

Season 5

For the first time in Nuneaton's history they are in the 3rd tier of english footbal (now League 1). With board expectations of fighting braverly against relagtion (again) was i confident of harbouring a playoff position with my young guns.

With no stadium or training expansion to speak of, finances were limited, leaving my 650k in the red during pre season. to cut down on my VAST squad and increasing debts i realised i would have to let got of some of my stars for the long term good of the club:

38 players out----£6m

this included my untried but promising 17 year old striker to wigan who shot up to £3.7m instantly in value- that's after i let him go for £1.2m!!this put me firmly in the black and gave me a fair amount of dosh. tight fisted though i am i decided to splash out £1m (my record signing) on a player my scouts had been tracking all last year. He instantly became one of the clubs favoured personnel.

Players in-----48 £2.3m

with yet more bids coming in for my starlets (the majority of whom had played for me in the conference north) were subject to lots of interest. i eventually rejected £6.3m for my central midfielder.

As expected my team hit form instantly, scoring goals for fun and my 3 england under 21 defenders were rock solid at the back. with the sale of my welsh nternational youngster, i decided to play my former no1 irish international keeper-who was quick to regain his form. As usual i did nothing in the cups, even though i always put out my best team:

FA cup---4th round
League cup---2nd round
LDV---3rd round

With my team sitting in the top 5 for the majority of the campaign, my attendances were considerably higher than last year, seeing an average of 5192, and a highest of 6491 vs Brizzle City. In the end it all came down to the last day with a win securing 2nd place. and yep, the youth prevailed again to see me obtain a second place finish---with only 78 points!!! Donny won the league though it was a close thing between 4 of us.

P W D L F A Pts
46 22 12 12 84 50 78

POSITION: 2nd

Notes

5 of my starting 11 became England under 21 regulars, including my player of the year 18 year old who scored 33 and became one of the clubs favourite personnel.

Finished season with about 134 players

Signed a new 3 year deal

Got offered my first random job:USA manager!!!

“134 players signed up” phew … now if you can only get the other pesky 9,864 players to sign up for you should be able to sail through the leagues because nobody will be able to field a team against you…

In the lower league if I have more than 25 players signed up I get a nose bleed.

well a good 65+ of these are on £35-70 per week as they are 16?17, so numbers is hardly a problem, just keeping hold of them al!!!!

KUTGW

Don't know how you're managing to manage a squad as big as that, I still forget about some players with a squad of 25-30!

to be honest i couldn't name 80% of the squad, i just check contract expiry dates every 6months and if they are good i re-sign on long deals, if they are crap i either sell or release them

I am also currently playing with Nuneaton and find that in a squad of 22 they complain about first team football.

Your players must be making you mad with complaints?
