He's easier to deal with than his comrade Major Cockup though.

Afraid to say Kev, that Northwich and Nuneaton will take the promotion spots from Conference North as champions and playoff winners, though I'd prefer it to be Stafford.

Yes, you're probably right.

Having only finished 8th last season, we'd have been delighted with a play-off spot at the start so no-one will be complaining if that's how it turns out.

Shame to have a team like Northwich in Conf North who in a football sense shouldn't be there and have made it doubly difficult for both Nuneaton & ourselves. Oh well never mind eh !

Northwich are only there because Forest Green are whinging arseholes who made a move for them to be demoted on grounds of their ground.

After not going to relegate them, the Conference then had to.
Shame, as Northwich were the last remaining ever present team in the Conference following Telford's demise.

Season 4

With the vast majority of my youth stars intact, the boards aim was for me to avoid relagation. with the quality i had, i thought this was perhaps a little below what i was capable of, until i looked at the league.....Tranmere,colchester,northampton,rotherh am,chesterfield,Port vale. oh, and walsall WITH Fryatt.

Pre season saw 55 players come in for 625k, and 36 players out for £1.2m. Despite these huge numbers, they were maimly 16,17 or 18 year olds that didn't meet the grade or i thought may have some potential.

After an unexpected great start to the season i was top after five games. this was suprising as my team had stayed the same for practically 2 years with the odd addition. Due to my flying high position in the league, the fans were flocking into Manor park, with the average attendance culminating in 4477.

Throughout the season there was premiership interest in alot of youngsters, 6 of whom were England U19 regulars,2 were NI U19's and one Welsh U19. Perhaps the highlight was my progressing midfielder being described as "The next Frank Lampard"!! and being called up to the England U21 squad.

At the end of a suprisingly easy season, Nuneaton's young guns finished top of the table, 13 points clear of second placed Rotherham. However, i again crashed out of the cups early, despite a good away win at championship QPR

P W D L F A Pts

46 27 11 8 106 49 92

FA cup-------2nd round 0-1 Hull
League cup---1st round 3-3p Doncaster
LDV----------1st round 0-1 Swindon

This year was a season of records for Nuneaton, as their goals scored and points total were the highest ever in league2. Also, their young striker scored 41 league goals with an average of 7.92 which was also a new record. 6 of the league 2 team of the year were Nuneatons young guns, and i managed to scoop the manager of the year award.
