I've just taken over this belarusian club, does anyone know what the first part means? or even how it should be pronounced?

I don't know the exact meaning, but "ДЮСШ" (the original term to that DYUSSH thing) is an abbreviation denoting a club or society. So DYuSSH-1 is something like the "1.FC" in Germany (see Kaiserslautern, Köln or Nürnberg).

thanks
the name of the stadium is DYuSSh as well though, which is a bit strange
on a side note, it's an incredibly entertaining league to play in - shots from inside the box regularly go out for throw ins
i was a bit shocked to discover i'm only on £25p/w, but i guess that's not such a bad wage in belarus!

25 per week is an excellent wage in Belarus. You're even able to buy food with that amount of money, something most people can't.

oh well, it doesn't matter too much now anyway, i think i will soon be sacked
i got promoted despite odds of 2000-1, but now i'm in the top division i'm getting like a jumbo sausage in a scottish chippy every game (well and truly battered). also playing in pink and white shirts is starting to get embarrassing .

I'm managing this lot, too, and it's not easy.
NOBODY wants to move here, not even unemployed Uzbek 35 year-olds... though, to be fair, the area was apparently quite heavily affected in the Chernobyl disaster, so I can see that it's appeal might be limited.
