Taips, how about a complete change of tactic? I believe this to be the key to success in this game, they seem to be far more important than players. Mayge if you tried something new, like even a new team, you could get re-attached to the save?

i am still playing CM 01/02...cause of all the bugs and hassles of later versions and i find that once i have a 'good' squad i can fly up the divisions which annoys me
it does annoy me when a game becomes too easy, even though in the case LLM we attempt to make it more realistic (which invariably makes it harder).

I know what you are saying K, and I actually do know why I am getting the results that I am, but it an't that.
The problem is that I have "cracked" the code, and it is something that is very difficult to ignore once this is known, even with the restraints of LLM. |

It is difficult, Taips, but it can be done...
I must have stumbled upon 5 or 6 of those so-called 'killer tactics' during my CM03/04 experience...and albeit sticking with them for a while, I've finally erased them from the HD and made some new tactical approach to the game that kept me interested in it until I've finally developed the new one...
So, Is it hard to do? Yes...sure... but if we erase our player knowledge from save to save we can also erase our tactic knowledge from time to time... It's sad, I know, but it is one of the only ways I've found to keep my interest in the game...

Just to note here, i just made a little test by putting Luton in conference and Chester in Div2. The result, Luton finished 4th and Chester 23th.
Whould a good player made better with Chester? I think so, once you know the game, it becomes too easy. The first time is always most difficult.
PaulC said the Tactical AI is better in FM, so there is hope, again |

Rep Power: 0 | Welcome to the machine
Early December 2011 we sit atop the Premier League having just dispatched Liverpool 4-1 on thier home turf.
Powerhouse club is Arsenal, having finished no lower than 3rd 2003. They have inflicted our only loss so far in our first year in the big time.
Too much money to spend and so far haven't really had the need to touch the allocation. The players we have are doing just fine. All have asked for pay rises, something they have been given. I'm something like £100,000 under my wage limit. One of my first picked players is still on the £450 Conference wage contract he sign. He is getting a bit ****ed about it, so I'd better do something about it soon.
Stadium is in the process if being expanded, so we are presently have a capacity of 6730. With the small stadium and cups not till later in the season, we are loosing £400k per month.
In a drunken stupor last week, I bought over-rated hot headed can't score for Country Aussie poof, and he is now the highest wage earner at the club in his Player/Coach role. That red wine has a lot to answer for. |

For the first time in 15 years, the PL Trophy does not have the name Arsenal or Man Utd on it. In fact it was a changing of the guard as they ended up 6th and 12th respectively.
Lost the semi-finals of the FA Cup to 1st Div Aston Villa, and we meet them next game in the Charity Shield (what's this carp Community Shield carp )
Our stadium is going through another further rebuild in readiness for our first European campaign. We hosted Hanover in a friendly, just to test the waters, and walked away with battle honors in a 0-0 game. I just hope our 88y old Chairman can stand the strain. Each year I expect it to be his last, and each year he keep plugging along. The old fella still has his noodles about him, skimming a cool £4.5M off last seasons profits.
Marked as 2nd favorites to take the flag behind The Gunners, our fans expect European qualification this season.
