This game started out as the official LLM challenge, Workington. As I failed miserably, it is no longer part of it, so I might as well start my own update thread.
I'm running the English leagues only, quickstart provided in the challenge thread.
In case you didn't follow my progress in the challenge thread, I managed to stay up for 4 seasons, and got relegated in the fifth, after which I was automatically sacked.
I decided the game was to much fun to abandon, and just before the new season started, I got hired by Moor Green.
10/11
P42 W15 D11 L16 F53 A53 Pts56 Pos 17th
FA Cup - Lost in 4th qualifying round to Tamworth(3-2)
FA Trophy - Lost in 1st round proper to Chesterfield(1-2)
I brought in 6 new players for free, and let go 8 guys for a grand total of €75k. I needed that, as I'm almost €500k in debt.
Our season was full of ups and downs, not really coming close to promotion or relegation. Highlight of the season was my star striker scoring 21 times, a new personal best both for him and me.
Moor Green seem to have a lot more potential than Workington though, so I'm hoping for better times.
11/12
P42 W20 D12 L10 F64 A40 Pts72 Pos 4th - Lost in playoff Semifinal 2nd leg to Hyde(4-1 on agg.)
FA Cup - Lost in 1st round proper to Leyton Orient(2-3)
FA Trophy - Lost in 1st round proper to Morecambe(2-1)
I had to sell my top striker, and my 2nd and 3rd choice striker as they were all three on astronomical wages, and made me quite a bit of money. In total 8 players left for a total of €275k, 9 players bought for €7k. Still 200k in debt though.
The season went extremely well. It appears my 4th and 5th choice striker of last season are a dream couple, scoring 44 goals between them.
The playoffs were a disaster, with my only two keepers on the books being out injured, and my team buckled under the pressure, as we gave away a 1-1 away draw to lose 3-0 at home.
I've got a feeling next year won't be this good, and I might be looking to move on. After 7 seasons in the Conference North, the Conference South looks like a challenge.

Same here, I think I'm just going to go on and on with this save till my manager dies of old age
How you manage to sell players for these kind of prices is beyond me though (not asking btw). In N.Ireland, all players, no matter them being good or sucky, are worth between 0 and 1k and most of the time, all the managers just ping pong them for 0k with 20% on next sale...
But since nobody is buying them for more than that, it's becoming quite of a joke
KUTGOGW or whatever it is they say here, looks like some pressure fun you having

It's mainly due to the fact that players in North aren't as good, and any good players would be plying their trade in another British league. Hell, even Scotland would be a step up.
