Default From stafford to pretty much no-where.

After a long, thoughtful discussion with Frank, Stafford Rangers became the team I was told, neigh ordered to manage. I'd never heard of them, so i was in for a nasty surprise when my board told me I had no money and was over my wage budget by 2k.
Not to be detterred by such a measly thing as money, I sent my only scout out on a trip around England. Before the season had even began, he'd picked up some real gems. So in came in 2 'keepers, 1 left back, 1 central defender and 4 strikers. Out went nobody, as i felt needed as big a squad i could get.

The season started brightly, we wnt on an eight game unbeaten run until the side bottom of the league beat us 3-0! I steared stafford, so called the boro for some unknown reason, to the top of the table, with one of my newly singed strikers bagging 30 goals in 25 games!! His tally was helped when he netted 7 in a cup qualifying round match which we won 11-0.
I also managed to get the team into the FA cup first round which drew us against scarborough of the conference national. I was happy with life at Stafford, until a cash strapped no hope bury side offered be the job of manager. When i say cash strapped, I mean 100K in debt and 7K over the wage budget. I figured i was the only boss they could afford so I left the Boro half way through the season with them sitting comfortably in top spot.

Bury was a completely different story. I had half a season to stop us going bust and keep us out of the relgation places. My fisrt 3 games were decievingly easy. We won them all, each time scoring 3. After that things went a bit pear shaped. We went 12 games without a win and all my players seemed to be getting worse as the weeks went by. I was fed up with them, so I placed every single one of them on the transfer list. I also brought in a central defender and 2 strikers on free transfers to try and help us out. We did just enough, and, after an appauling half a season, finished 18th.
Stafford won the league and their new manager was hailed as a god by their fans. I regretted leaving.

The second season came about far too quickily for my liking. But in the close season I had sold off 11 of my first team from the previous year for a total of 250K. This brought us out of debt and made my wage budget seem far less over spent.
I brought in 16...yes, 16 new players for a combined fee of nothing! The majority of them premiership youth players who hadn't made the grade.
My fans began to like me, saying I had shown good ambition by bringing in the lft back I had previously signed at Stafford. The season went by without much drama. We won the odd game, drew the odd game and lost the odd game. My worst moment was losing 5-0 to carlisle in the league, the highest player rating was 5! The week after came my best win of the year, 4-0 against Chester who were second from bottom in the league. No-one could say that life at Gigg Lane was dull.
We finished a very respectable 9th, just 2 points shy of the playoff places. Next season, I thought, we could do it.

I let go of only 3 players this time. I figured my young team ( no-one was over 26 ) would have gained valuble experience last year and would now be up for the challenge. Fortunately, I was right. We went on a 6 game winning streak which saw us climb to second place in the league and qualify for the 3rd round of the FA cup. My 21 year old American striker ( top scorer in the previous season) had netted 23 times before the half way margin. And for the first time, there was money available for me to spend. My scout who I had pinched from stafford had found an amzing 272 players on his travels. I only signed one of these though, a 19 year old midfielder from Man City. Even then manged to spend no money on him, Manc were happy to get rid. He soon became club captain and kept Bury in the promotion hunt, us winning a further 4 games before the goal drought came. We didn't manage to find the net in 5 matches. My American striker had got himself suspended for 3 matches for headbutting an opposition player and my other strikers were just rubbish. Mind you, not all was bad, we only conseded one goal in this run, picking up 4 points without really doing anything.
But this poor patch had cost us at the most crucial time in the season. We slipped from second to 6th in 3 weeks. Players were becoming unhappy with my team talks and who I was selecting. I listened to their critism and chose one such player for my next match, the young left back I signed from Stafford. He contributed by scoring straight from a corner minutes before getting himself sent off. We held on to win the game ( against Leyton Orient) by 1 goal to 0.
The season ended with us in 5th place. We had made the playoffs. Boston went on the walk the league and won by a margin of 8 points.
First playoff match was against Barnet. We won this 2-1 with a double from American Striker.
The second match finished 0-0 with 2 players from both sides being red carded. We were going to Wembly, yes, but I had 2 first teamers missing and another 2 out injured. This is what comes from playing hard tackling and tight marking!
So i selected the best players I had available to me. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough. My team of young guns got absolutely thrashed .....6-2 to grimsby!! Despite feeling very angry I sympathised with my team after the game. Stafford, under the guidance of the guy who took over from me, got relegated back to the Conference North after only winning one game. At least i did better then them!

My board were happy, my fans were happy, my players were happy. But i was bored. I jumped ship to a recently relegated Ipswich side in League 1. Bury will probably win the league next year

Ok, as you lot are feeling too lazy to read my amzing fisrt post, here is a shortended version:
first season got stafford to the top of the league, got appointed as bury boss and saved them from relegation.

second season signed loads of random youngsters and bury finished 9th.

third season we finished 5th, lost in the playoff final 6-2 and then got appointed as Ipswich boss.

Is that better, or does it still take too much effort for you to read it?
