Third Division: Independencia
Finished 3rd in the State Championship, started off with 8 wins only to slip down from 1st to 3rd over the final two games.
Had to sell the striker I'd pursued for 2-3 seasons when Ajax and Corintians came in for him, eventually moved on for £3 million.
Put the money to good use bringing in some players and it paid off. Clambered up to the top of my group with 5 games left and never looked back. Finished top with both of my State rivals missing out as well :cool:
Managed to get through in the second and third round before losing in the fourth round (final 8 teams) 6-1 on aggregate to Moto Clube. Scoreline flattered them though as I'd made a desperation move in the final 20 minutes that didn't pay off.
Roll on 2010 and attempt 6.
League Stats: 1st P:14 W:8 D:3 L:3 F:27 A:29 PTS:27
Second Round: 2-1 aggregate win over Chapecoense
Third Round: 5-1 aggregate win over Villa Nova (MG)
Fourth Round: 6-1 aggregate defeat to Moto Clube
Players In: 11 (£640K spent)
Players Out: 7 (£4.2m received)
