I'm on constant watch wewak - if I had to stop going there, I'll be damned if I let anyone else get away with it. It's true that former criminals make the best cops

Blimey, a bloke does some overtime at work, misses checking in on the forums and all hell breaks loose. Don't make me come over there

kroc, i concede that my original post did ask for people playing in Northern Ireland to share any experiences but at the end of the post i thought i had made attempts to make my post almost rhetorical by finishing with "Rant over".

I did enjoy the responses by other llamas but, like all posts that are made in this forum, adhering to the llama ethos.

As for the follow-up verbal diarrhoea in some vain attempt at a p*ssing contest with established and respected veterans of the llama landscape :thdn:

Lets get this thread back on track.

Given that i live about 10 timezones away from the region that i've chosen to start my LLM career with can anyone give me some information on the real life Northern Ireland leagues. I know its a bit off the game topic itself but i'm trying to get a mental picture of what its like.

Moo - How big is Chimney Corner? Has it ever had footballing success?

Any information would be welcomed. Indeed one of these days i might get around to travelling over to that neck of the woods.

Whats the shizzle, is this not a forum where lower league managers can share experiences of managing lower league teams? But you can only argue....tut tut. You bring shame

chimney corner is not very big. The Northern Ireland Leagues are very, very unprofessional. There's a lot of fighting in matches (between supporters AND players) especially in cup finals. Frankly, it's a shambles. . spiff where do you live? If you live in a hot country..buy some heavy clothes because the weather here, even in the summer sometimes, is lethal!! Though it has got warmer over the past few years.

Managing brantwood in NI2, doing "ok" im loveing the cup games i keep getting put up against worst opposition then my self and descimating them 7-0 not really an achievement but it boosts morale so when i play my first game of the season i was quitely confident, because only lost on cup game, even managed to beat distillery 2-0, and i lose 2-0 should have been like 8-0 but i had a super goalie, Back to the drawing board.

Also im like 84 pounds over my weekly wage budget and the board are refusing to sign players till its below, tight BArtenders, also notching up 40k of debt in the first 2 months doesnt look promosing, im looking for succesive promotions to try and keep that problem going out of control since im loseing like 12k a month.

Signed a young 17 year old striker he sucks but has good composure and is averaging 1 a game, anyways back to Northern Ireland I go, LINFIELD will fear me! o_O

Interesting thread, and good to see people outside Northern Ireland playing my leagues! lol

Im the head researcher in FM for Northern Ireland and unfortunately the football here has very little money in it outside the top clubs (and even most of them have severe debt issues)

With regards to generating money within the NI game, then your best bet is cup progress - as already said the money is to be made in the 'All Ireland Cup' or 'Setanta Cup' in real life. This is a cross-border competition in which the best sides in Northern Ireland take on the best in the Republic of Ireland. All games are televised and a large kitty is available.

Mark - as you're the chief NI Researcher for FM,can I suggest that you propose that we include the Belfast Telegraph Intermediate Cup as opposed to the Steel and Sons Cup which is limited to teams from the County Antrim area - maybe we could discuss this more?
