I'd like that option in manager promises

The whole thing just seems silly, because the only way this grey player can ever have a career in my FM world is if he signs that contract. Otherwise he's with the under 18 squad until he's too old to qualify, and then he'll disappear into nothingness.
No, players that are too rubbish or obscure for FM don't disappear when they reach 18.
Something much worse happens.
They go to Championship Manager 5...

Grey Player Thinks Quite Highly of Himself Post #16
I have noticed this also, but think it is connected to players who are in the reserve or U18 squad. Before I started my career game, I was fooling around testing things as I do. One of the things I wanted to find out was about the grey players, how good they were, & whether there stats changed once signed. As an experiment I took over a club, got rid of all the players, & signed a team of greys. Now all the greys from the 1st team automatically all signed, but when I tried the other squads did not, how ever much I tried. I then ran the game for a year to see the results, which were thankfully dreadful. So at least the super grey wasn't prominent, as I was led to believe.
