If you play a lower league side your board restricts the wage that you can offer to your coaching staff to something like £15 a week.
However if you happen to find an active player with decent coaching stats you can approach the player with a player/coach contract and be allowed to offer them up to say £200 a week, even though you never intend to place the player on the pitch, but only take advantage of his coaching skills.
How many LLM would consider this to be cheating?

The Player/Coach exploit... is it legal or not? Post #2
I dont think its a bug, the board probaly prefer it as its 2 for 1 basically at the same price as a player or a bit dearer, this is how i built my staff team in N.Ireland, a 40 year old DMC Coach/player, got player of the year 2 years in a row and has been snkeaing in the N.Ireland squad at forty

I wouldn’t hire him as a player/coach unless I realistically am going to play him… Otherwise within a month he will be grumbeling that he is not playing enough footy. I have no idea what effect having an unhappy staff member coaching my team is, but it certainly wouldn’t be good.

normally player coaches in Lower Leagues have a big Mental stat advantage over others but cant move around a lot or have the stamina to go all game, but for DMC holding role, or centre back, hold up striker there perfect.
But like Hogie i only sign them if i intend to play them.

I personally never sign Player/Coaches as transfers, I do offer Player/Coach contracts to veteran players in my squad as I find this to be a realistical approach to the phenomenon.

I did once sign a former England international as a player/ass.manager. He retired after one season as player, he's still my assistent (earning 4400 euro a month....)
