Ah a young idealist still thinks that Uni is a place you go to get an education

Are you playing FM on a lap top?

Uni is only there so you can get a degree. This doesn't necessarily mean you should spend time on doing things like studying, learning or sleeping.

For my part I found out that getting a laptop was the worst thing for my studies. First it seemed like a good idea. Bringing the laptop to lectures and so on, doing notes while the bugger was talking.

Then entered Football Manager and it all changed. One dull lecture, and I found out that sitting at the Uni playing FM was a great idea.

I'm still at the Uni.

Uni is probably the first time most people live away from their parents and as such you time should be spent drinking excessively, shagging anything in a skirt (or wearing a wooly jumper in Wales ) and generally having a blast.

I wondered why that Scotish chappie, who insisted on wearing a kilt at my university, left after the first term.

In fairness I don't spend much time on any of these things but it seems my life has been slightly taken over by poker although I'm considering just burnig the money...it would save time! (although *brag alert* I have won more than I have lost so far).

Season 5: 2009-2010

This season got off to terrible start as I struggled to fill the gaping hole left on the right wing by last season's loanee. After bing in 19th after 10 games I thought our season was in real trouble but with the help of a semi decent winger signing and an unbelievably close league table our form picked up and we move up through the league into the playoff places. Weymouth were running away the league and I though we were playing for second but Weymouth's season went into free-fall and, had we not gone 4 games without a win at the end of the season we would surely have won it!

League: P: 42 W:20 D:9 L:13 69 points Promoted finally via the playoffs winning the final at Vicarage Road against Cambridge city 3-0 (0-0 at half time).

Signings: Very few players were brought in for this season although I had a striker on loan from Northampton who was integral to the team's success. For next season I have brought in a very experienced French DMC (formerly of Fulham), and an even more experienced French DC (often creditted with starting the Bolton Revolution).

Player of the Season: Tallented Striker (who once made the England U19 Squad)

Elsewhere:

Arsenal won their 5 successive EPL (I knew Wigan top at Christmas was too good to be true!)

France beat Brazil to win the world cup (England, lead by Paul Jewel, were third).

No major shocks elsewhere as far as I can see.

*sorry about the length of this...it feels quite long*

Other random things that I forgot to mention... firstly, I'm hoping that income in the Conference will be higher as my two "big" signings have left my wage budget in tatters; secondly, all four of this season's UEFA Cup semi finalist were from Spain (:eek; thirdly, as if it needed to be said, Cups Sucked!!
