Are any of guys on here losing games with FM 08 in the Pre-season?

I've definitely noticed that the human club tends to have a tough time during friendlies in FM08, at least at the start of a new saved game. In several saved games, I've only had one where my club stormed out to good form and played well straight away. All the others have languished for three or four matches before finding their form and getting a couple of good results before beginning the league season.

I attribute it to changing the formation. I've been using a new formation in FM08, and it's always different from what my club was playing previously. I tend to start with crap clubs that lack good coaching, so I usually bring in a couple of new coaches as well. So I'm not entirely surprised that it seems to take some time for my teams to get settled.

When i play with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barca, Milan or Chelsea, i can play Brentford or Hartlepool in a pre-season friendly and draw or lose 2-1 or something. It happens. Your players are not fully fit, you are messing about with tactics etc. Big clubs lose meaningless pre-season games. It's football mate. Don't worry about it. It's the League and Cups that matter.
