It does seem to be happening alot more in FM2008, i've had it about 7 times already and i'm only 2 seasons in, lost Jay DeMerit, Marlon King and even worse, Jimenez
But to be honest I think it's pretty realistic, most clubs do accept bids that we in FM would usually reject, so surely if in real life the manager said no, the chairman would interfere.
However, I think there should be more added to it, such as complaining to the chairman about accepting bids or after he's accepted it tell him you really, really need that players.
If you're going to increase the involvement of chairman, which I don't have a problem with, you should add more interaction to this side of things.

Agree 100%, even though this feature is not in the game i still find myself going the the "board room" when the chairman accepts bids in the hope there is a "wtf are you doing to the club" button
my issue is that on my game i had this sweet regen that my board sold for like 12 million...even though they just upped my transfer budget by 11.5 million. I would have very willingly given back the transfer budget. About a month earlier than that i lost my best right back (admittedly for 20 some million pounds) after i had kept him from two other teams with a new contract (and signing bonuses of a million total). I just take that to mean that he obviously doesn't mind staying with me, so why does he need to go. It made me sad.

Felt I needed a change at the back too. Going for Robert Green. England no1 choice keeper atm, 29 so at his peak, and hopefully hes a good communicator.
Got a bank balance now of 39 million so will be able to improve the rest of the team. (looking at aaron lennon).
Libis Arenas is a good keeper too...got him at Lazio.

Board stepped in with a bid of £4.7m, he was moaning about moving to a bigger club etc, which could have had an effect, was he unhappy with you?
at least with me the ones that got sold were good with me. that's what i meant by the fact that they would sign new contracts with me. (most of the time when players want to move they aren't willing to discuss signing a new contract at that time) I have other players who do want to leave, but I'm pretty sure the ones who got bought were fine with staying.
I had two players both VERY similar (almost identical) I bought both for 60k, both were AMRLC's, both were 21, both had an average of 6.81 over the season, both played roughly 40 games. One was sold for 1.6 mil (his 'value' was 360k), the board accepted this bid over my head(not bovered btw)the other was sold for 1.4mil (value was 400k) by me, I rejected two offers (1.4mil both from teams in my division) and the chairman had nothing to say. Thats seems odd, odd in a this is completely random 'lol' way.
