well guys I just do not trust my assistant, he has very low abulity to judge potential and all my younger players he is reommending me to offload even though when i bought them the scout said they were good, by the way the scout had good ability to judge potential,
Now i plan to change the assitant, what abilitits should a good assistnat have?
What team are you playing as? i tend to listen to my scouts more than assistant really. It is nice to have someone reliable in place and someone you like IRL aswell. I love making one of my favourite players my assistant aswell.
I would say that Asst. Man's needs the following attributes:
Potential Ability & Current Ability
Man Management
Working with Youngsters
Tactical Knowledge (if he controls the Reserves)
Even some level of coaching abilities in general if you want him to coach as well.
I don't really use my asst. manager for ability checks as I have found some issues with the general Ability feature. Also I dont use him for training, I have specialised coaches in each aspect and they are doing a good job for me.
For my assistant I look for high numbersa cross all his stats. Usually I am able to promote from within my current coaching staff as it is often hard to sign asst managers from other clubs.
However, even with high attributes you can still get asst managers saying certain players should be offloaded etc, so generally ignoring your assistant in a lot of matters is the best way forward.
i had baresi after bolton stole pat rice from me in fm07, and i was still getting a conflict of opinion regarding scout and coach reports. he also used to upset my players with his team talks during pre season matches (i put himn in control of friendlies). his stats were particularly high for judging ability, potential, motivating and man management. i haven't experienced such an issue in this game.
gavnoble said what I forgot to mention. Noone is perfect so even the best assistant manager will make mistakes and be wrong about the potential of a player.
But in general the higher rating a staff has in judging potential ability, the higher the chance of him being right.
